Exciting Outdoor Games To Play With Your Dog

Having an active outdoor lifestyle is such an important aspect of a dog’s life, both being extremely mentally and physically beneficial to their health and well-being.

We know how fun it can be to watch your pooch have the zoomies in the garden or play with a stick whilst on a walk…but we think it’s even more fun to get involved with the silliness and make memories in the outdoors with your dog.

To help with that, we have compiled a short list of ideas below to get you started on your outdoor pooch play time!

  1. Tug-Of-War

This has to be an ultimate favourite of ours, even if you are extremely competitive…you know you always have to let your best friend win 🥰.

  1. Hide And Seek

Again, a classic but funny game to play outdoors with your dog. Just make sure you don’t hide for too long otherwise they might start to panic!

  1. Water Play

This is perfect for when the sun is shining and the heat is rising…ultimately you want to keep yourself and your four-legged pal cool on a hot summers day and this is one of the most enjoyable ways to do it!

  1. One-Sided Tennis (Fetch)

Okay okay, we know what you’re thinking…yes this is just fetch BUT try it with a tennis ball and then try it with a frisbee…you’ll thank us later!

  1. Football 1-1

We would usually call this a ‘Football 1-2’ but typically your dog is going to receive the ball and not want to give it back…oops. Chase your dog through the garden and watch them run away with a widely wagging tail following them.

  1. Bubble Bonanza

Everyone loved to blow bubbles as a kid…you might even like blowing bubbles as an adult but make the most of dog-friendly bubbles and let your pooch pop them until their heart is content!

  1. CSI

We like to call this ‘CSI’ as it’s like rummaging through a cluttered space to find that one thing you want/need but in this case, it is a treat or dog-safe snack and you’ve hidden it in the garden…maybe behind a tree or under a chair!
